Kern Valley Hospital Foundation lauds successful blood donation drive

Thank you, Kern Valley!!

The Kern Valley Hospital Foundation and the Kern Valley Healthcare District partnered to bring you the Kern Valley Health Faire on Friday, Sept. 17. Houchin Blood Bank was very pleased at the long list of blood donors that stepped up to help with a shortage at the blood bank. As you well know, COVID-19 has prevented many of us from donating blood for friends and family, and as a result our blood supplies have decreased over the past 18 months. Houchin thanks all of you that participated in the blood drive. We plan to schedule another visit from Houchin in the spring of 2022.

The health care professionals that took part in the Health Faire are grateful for the opportunity to share with the community all the resources we have available to the public right here in the Kern Valley. We will also be working with Senior Citizens Inc. in the future to bring more resources and opportunities in the field of health care. We believe this will be a great partnership.

The Kern Valley Hospital Foundation presented the Third Annual Crabfest. The event was held Saturday, Sept. 18 on the hospital front lawn. The event was a resounding success!! The weather was perfect. We had great food, wonderful music, fun items for the silent auction and we got to spend time with good friends and family!! We were also given some great ideas for next year’s event. Stay tuned!!

The Kern Valley Hospital Foundation thanks our corporate sponsors for making this event possible.

A lot of work and dedication by foundation members went into these events. We support other activities to improve the ongoing efforts of the Kern Valley Healthcare District. The Kern Valley Hospital Foundation is dedicated to creating healthy communities.

I am proud of what the Foundation has accomplished during these trying times. It gives me faith that the future is bright, and our organization will remain sustainable throughout the ups and downs of our daily lives.
